Steve LeVeille: Steve LeVeille wbz radio LATEST NEWS

Steve LeVeille and WBZ Radio

Does anyone else think that Steve LeVeille’s treatment of some of his callers is downright rude and boorish ?  In the last week I have heard several callers get lambasted by this guy for no good reason.
One caller just wanted to give LeVeille some info about cat allergies, something that LeVeille was discussing. He was repeatedly admonished not to read or quote an article he had read because it was not “GOOD RADIO”.
His continued use of “aren’t you listening” or “weren’t you paying attention” and several other phrases that he uses to try and belittle the caller is getting really tired.
I used to enjoy listening to him but I find myself turning him off when he starts this nonsense. He actually sounds like he is out of control.
Stevie boy you need to lighten up, it’s only a radio show - I’m sorry “BROADCAST”
and while you are a talented host you ain’t no Larry Glick or Jess Cain.

Steve has always been like that.  I used to listen to WBZ every night, now I’ll only put it on if I know Jordan Rich or another fill in is hosting.

  1. I have not listened to STeve Leveille for a long time. I agree that he is rude, boorish and often ill-informed (in spite of his own opinion!)
I am glad he is gone. I always changed the station if he was on.

  2. I am sorry to say that I have to agree with Nancy. I am a devoted listener to BZ– they do an excellent job. I have always fealt that steve was a very poor fit with an organization that excells in keeping its audience thoroughly informed, wonderfully entertained, and in touch with people and events that form the framework of what has become a rather complex culture. With limited space, I’m trying to present my case as accurately and completely as I can.For openers, he needs to take “I” out of his broadcast, and comprehend that we are all in this together. Patience, kindness, and understanding that we all matriculate at different levels in this world might be a good start. This job requires a huge range of abilities–That includes likeability-Phil

  3. For my money Steve Leveille is one of the rudest people ever to be a radio talk show host. I called once and he interrupted me and when I tried to continue he told me to “shut up”! I wouldn’t let him finish HIS interruption of me and yet he said I was interrupting, which makes no sense. It confounds me such a boor has a fan base at all. I really miss the eloquence, erudition and gentility of David Brudnoy. He was a class act.

  4. You guys have got to be kidding! Steve went out of his way to listen to people - he did so to the extreme, sometimes callers would stop abruptly and ask if they were still on the air, because silent listening from a radio host is unusual today. And in the case of him actually having something to say about the issue he *would* say something and probably got irritated by your boorish interruptions.

That said, he did seem to be getting testy towards the “end,” like in November.

I suppose you people would prefer a show made by some guy in Philadelphia who could give a crap (or know jack) about New England??

  5. yes mark we would rather listen to a sydicated CBS show. For a number of reasons, one being that the guy on now is a professional, he knows how to prepare for a show and how to move the callers along on the topic. Not Max the cat for two hours!!!! puleez!!! Leveille was unprepared rude, arrogany and boorish. The best thing he had on was mel simons and his snorting laugh got to you by the third freaking audio clip. Leveille was bad radio and listener turn off. Good cost cutting move by the station and good caller driven radio on overnight now. silent listening mreant leveille did not wantb to talk about it mark my friend or he disagreed with it!!! It’s a good thing GM Ted Jordan did not catch this bores act sooner or he would have been sh#tcanned much earlier. He was bad radio and turned people off I could hear the dials turning when he went into one of his long winded speeches about his dumb cat and waht it did during the day!!!! OH MY GOD!!!, I know and thousands of other people know including the ones pulling the strings. I am in the business and got tired of leveille’s act it wore thin on a lot of people and he should have done something about. the only thing he did was open forum and open forum light, just plain words for laziness and i have not prepared any set topics for the show. Good riddens Steve, Max the idiot cat, claudio, generosa-puleez and that idiot ramblin dan the guitar player!!! YOU HAVE ALL BEEN DEALT THE ACE OF SPADES!!!

  6. Gee, that’s funny, because I called Steve for years (starting in the’90S) and never ONCE had a problem with him (and he and I did not agree politically, either). Perhaps it might behoove you people, who DID have problems with him, to take a look at YOURSELVES, rather than blaming Steve for your own deficiencies. (Oh, and Peter, your stupid, rambling rant, complete with silly, spiteful cracks about Steve’s cat, of all things, only serves to demonstrate your OWN boorishness and obnoxiousness. In fact, your entire post speaks volumes about you.)

  7. HAHAHAAAA!

We got Steve back on the air!!!!! Next monday he starts, as WBZ has reconsidered.

I wonder if it had anything to do with mine and hundreds of emails and letters that we sent in protest. I truly have not listened to BZ since the firings…

I will make sure to tune in on Monday.

    Read it and weep! http://news.bostonherald.com/jobfind/news/media/view/2009_01_27_Steve_LeVeille_and_Lovell_Dyett_return_to_WBZ_after_listeners_sound_off/srvc=home&position=also

  8. Tee-hee

  9. I do not listen to him as I find his voice to be irritating, very sybilent as if his dentures are ill fittting. I, too, find him very rude, egotistical, and obnoxious; therefore, I do not tune him in. I could care less whether he comes or goes, I just turn BZ off at midnight.

  10. Hey, it’s a radio show! Lighten up!

Anyone that is courteous and wants dialogue, not monologue, usually gets it. That’s been my experience over the past decade and more listening to Steve. If it wasn’t a bit diverse, it would not be as interesting.

I’m really happy he’s back. I was boycotting the show.
